The month of March is filled with super fun things to do with your friends in the Philly area.  If you’re tired of your regular going out spots, there are tons of new places to try this month!

Saint Patrick’s Day

The Philadelphia St. Patrick’s Day Parade and the Conshohocken St. Patrick’s Day parade are just two of the day long events that feature bands, live music, and food!  It’s the perfect way to dress up in green and celebrate the holiday!  The parades feature Irish dancers, floats, and marching bands to escalate the excitement.  There are also many popular bar crawls during the week of St. Patrick’s Day.  Some of them include the Erin Express, the Leprechaun Lap Bar Crawl, and the Manayunk Shamrock Local.  A St. Patrick’s Day bar crawl is the perfect way to celebrate on the weekend!

Mile Runs

The Leprechaun Run is an annual run that supports the Special Olympics Philadelphia Athletes.  You can choose between the 5 or 2 mile run and all proceeds go to the Special Olympics organization.  The Philadelphia Love Run is also another popular run at the end of March that many participate in.  This run is on March 25th, and you can choose between participating in the 5k or the half marathon.

Philadelphia Flower Show

The annual flower show is held from March 3rd to the 11th at the Pennsylvania Convention Center.  The show includes features of floral designers who show off their unique designs that are created from various kinds of plants and flowers.  The show will also feature multiple food vendors and entertainment.  It’s a great break from studying and the perfect hot spot for photos!  You can also choose to volunteer at this show at any date during the week, so its another great way of giving back to the community! Here’s a photo a fellow Hawk took at the show, check out her Instagram for more!

Franklin Square

The Franklin Square officially reopens on March 1st, right in time for the warmer weather!  Franklin Square can be your new go-to off campus spot for a warm, Spring day.  You can find tons of food vendors, a carousel, and mini golf at this park, as well!

If you’re looking for a way to get off campus and try something new, these spots will definitely make your March so much better!
