How to: Get Through Cuffing Season When Single

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at SJSU chapter.

Cuffing season is about to be in full effect as it is gets colder and darker earlier.

Just about everyone is coupling up, and enjoying the Netflix and chill nights.

However, this is a difficult time for those of us who are single and wishing to be in a relationship.

According to the Urban Dictionary, cuffing season is the designated time of the year during fall and winter when people end up in relationships.

Fall semester is about halfway over and winter break is right around the corner.

Do not fret! We have got you covered when it comes to dealing with being lonely during cuffing season.

So how do you withstand cuffing season when you are Single AF?

Enjoy being single….

I get that there is a downside to being single, but it can also be the time for you to prepare yourself for your future Mr. or Mrs. So don’t worry this is a special time for you to get to know you. During cuffing season it’s best to enjoy yourself and to not feel like you are alone. Treat yo self!

Netflix and Chill:

I mean literally Netflix and chill, not the “Netflix and chill” that forces you to feel uncomfortable based on your dates expectations. Netflix was made for watching movies and relaxing, so do just that! As the weather changes during the fall season, rainy nights are the best nights to watch movies and relax. Netflix has a lot of new releases this fall season, So grab yourself popcorn and start watching some movies.

Fall Activities

Fall and winter happen to be two of my favorite seasons within the year because of the different activities that you can do. Activities include going to the pumpkin patch with your family, and carving pumpkins into creepy and cute designs. Alternative activities include ice skating usually ideal for couples but, who says you can’t go with your single friends. Make a fall and winter  bucket list and go on adventures.

Spend time with Friends and Family!

This is the season for spending time with both family and friends. Spend quality time with them and just enjoy their presence. Spending a lot of time away from home can be tough therefore, when you get home from college for winter break spend it with those who matter most.
