What’s In My Backpack? Meet the E-Board Series: Katie Labbay

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Simmons chapter.

Meet our secretary, Katie Labbay, who gave us a peek into what she uses at school every day to keep herself organized.

New England Roots

“This is L.L. Bean,” she says, opening up her backpack, “and I have an L.L. Bean brown boot keychain, because I’m all about nature. I’m from Maine, and I’m pretty proud of where I’m from.”

Organization is Key

“Here’s my planner, it’s one of the biggest things I have. It’s Erin Condren. It just kinda keeps my life organized, which I really appreciate.

“My computer holds the majority of my notes and everything like that, and since a lot of the professors talk so fast, it’s kinda hard to write everything. And on the subject of notes, this is my notebook for one of my business classes. If I were to lose that notebook, my life would be over.”

Always be prepared.

“I have ibuprofen and a lot of other medications in here, because I always like to be prepared. That speaks to my personality a little bit. And I have to have a water bottle with me, without it I feel really empty. And coffee, of course.”

Keep it Simple!

“I don’t like to carry too much stuff with me, because then I feel overwhelmed, so I keep it to the basics, and I switch it out every day with what I need.”
