Not too long ago I found myself dreaming about my (now) boyfriend and romanticizing our friendship. I spent weeks daydreaming about the day we’d finally be together. Here are my 4 easy steps to turn Palentines into Valentines.

#1 Don’t Be Shy

If they aren’t making the first move, then you make it! I am notorious for being shy and although some people find that cute, you need to get out of your comfort zone and talk to them! What’s the worst thing that can happen? They don’t want to talk? If that’s the case then tell ’em  “BOY BYE.”

#2 Ask them for help

If you need help doing something, like working on a project or decorating your dorm, let your Palentine know! This is a great chance to spend one-on-one time with them, and give them a chance to show you how kind they can truly be.

#3 Try to get them alone & just talk

This one is a no-brainer. Try to set up a coffee date or go a park. Literally invite them anywhere and just talk. It’s the best way to show them how awesome you really are, and you’ll get to know more about them too!

#4 Become their best friend

This is the most important step! Honestly, I believe the best relationships begin this way, but it’s so important that you become your crush’s best friend first. Get to know all the little details that make them who they are. Make sure to not force anything and take it slow. I can honestly say that my boyfriend is my best friend & I’ve never been more happy than I am with him!

Lastly, this isn’t a step but just a reminder to stay true to yourself. It’s okay if it doesn’t work out the way you’d hoped! Life will go on!
