This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Siena chapter.

Hometown: Victor, NY (near Rochester)

Major/year: Senior Biochemistry major with a minor in Creative Arts

Favorite food: Probably pot roast with mashed potatoes and cooked carrots!

Favorite Disney movie: Disney movies scared me as a kid, but I love Tangled!

Weirdest nickname someone has called you: I think it’s a tie between Bgette and Bridgey-Bot (my sister is the only one who can use this; I will fight anyone else).

Her Campus Siena: Who was one of your biggest role models growing up, and why?

Bridgette Klein: It is currently 12:29 AM and the only person I can come up with that I actually have a good reason for is St. Elizabeth of Hungary. She was so dedicated to both her family and to God and was truly a servant leader. She saw Christ in everyone and was always willing to go out of her way to help him or her!

HC: What made you decide to come to Siena? What made you choose your major?

BK: I picked Siena because I really wanted to go to a small-ish Christian (preferably Catholic) school with a strong science department where I could be involved in theatre without being a theatre/drama/performing arts/etc. major. I kept taking those “Which college is right for you?” quizzes and Siena kept turning up as the #1 answer so I figured I might as well check it out. I got on campus and had the “wedding dress moment” – I just knew this was the place for me!

As for biochemistry, I love genetics and really dislike ecology, so I figured biochem was the best way solution. I was initially considering going into genetic research of some sort, but now I’m actually working towards applying to medical school!

HC: Do you have a favorite club on campus? If you can’t pick one, what are your top three?

BK: My top three clubs are definitely Stage III (I’m the VP), Student Ministry Board (I’m the Secretary), and Psalm 150 (I play viola at the 11 AM Sunday Mass)!

HC: If you were stranded on a desert island, what book or movie character would you want to have with you? Why?

BK: Probably Sherlock Holmes. He could teach me about deduction and we could probably get off the island. If TV characters count, then the Doctor (from Doctor Who). We could definitely get off the island and then travel though time and space.

HC: What is one of your favorite things you’ve been a part of on campus?

BK: I’ve absolutely LOVED playing Laura Wingfield in The Glass Menagerie semester! #DreamRole Actually, I think all my theatre stuff has been my favorite. Like being in Measure for MeasureAnd I love Psalm 150 and Chorus.

HC: What is one of the weirdest things you’ve been a part of on campus?

BK: I’ve been part of some really weird shows though the Creative Arts department. I’m currently in Endgame and am playing Nagg (an old man who essentially lives in a trashcan). I designed costumes for God of Carnage (last year?) and I had to help figure out how to make someone throw up onstage and that was also really weird.

HC: What is something that you really truly love about yourself?

BK: I am a very determined person; if you tell me I can’t do something there’s a strong likelihood I’m going to try to prove you wrong. I also really like that both sides of my brain are equally strong; I’m very analytical but also creative!
