This weekend I had the pleasure of visiting some family in Quebec – I hadn’t been in 14 years! I forgot what a beautiful place it is (but definitely a cold one).
La première journée – The first day was spent wandering through old Quebec city: it looks like a little town straight out of Europe. Since it gets quite windy by the water edge, I layered my thick parka (I felt so true blue Canadian in this) with a basic camel turtleneck and plaid pants to add some texture.
Deuxième Journée – The second day was amazing, we explored the Parc de la Chute-Morency which is an amazing waterfall with a gondola up to a suspension bridge. This was all beautiful, but the best part was at the end when we trudged across a frozen riverbed and got right up to the base of the waterfall. This outfit probably would have faired better with yesterday’s activities as I ended up having to borrow my mom’s spare boots to make it across the snow… Worth it??
Troisième Journée – On our last full day in Quebec we started the morning off at a traditional Sugar Shack (Cabin au Sucre) where they make maple syrup and serve breakfast with live singing and dancing! Once again, I was not appropriately dressed for the weather, but what else is new?
