Valentine’s Day is right around the corner – and let’s face it – many of us are dateless. With the new MTV show, Catfish, and online dating scandals such as, football star, Manti Te’o’s, many may be hesitant about online dating. By joining dating website, DateMySchool.com, that hesitation will die down all together.

I know what you’re wondering, what’s the difference? Datemyschool.com is an online dating website exclusively for college students. Only students or alumni with an active university e-mail account can register unto the site. With ideas to create a better platform for both sexes to interact outside of the classroom, Balazs Alexa and Jean Meyer on the Columbia University campus in November 2010, created Datemyschool.com.

Once active on the site, students can narrow down the search options for potential dates to specific schools and even specific majors of people they would be interested in dating.

With more than 1000 schools nationwide connected and more than 180,000 registered users, the website, DateMySchool.com has given college students a trusting dating site to meet dates with common interests that live on the same campus or nearby schools.

I believe the saying “Never knock something, until you try it,” would be appropriate to use in this case.  According to a CNN news article, “New Dating Site Helps College Students Find Love,” two students who got married three months after meeting on Datemyschool.com would definitely agree that this free website is worth joining.

Valentine’s Day is approaching quickly! Spend your day doing something spontaneous with someone you’ve met on DateMySchool.com
