Players to Watch Out for this Baseball Season

While the Mariners have not had the greatest track record among all of the MLB teams, this year may be their time to shine. Here are a few of the players that you should definitely watch out for this season, and some things you need to know about them:

Nelson Cruz – Left Fielder

-Born in the Dominican Republic, has played for the Milwaukee Brewers, Texas Rangers, and Baltimore Orioles

-Top home run hitter last season

-Just signed a 4 year contract with Mariners in December

-Three time All-Star

-Career batting average of .268

-4 home runs in the past 7 games

 

Taijuan Walker – Pitcher

-Had his MLB debut with the Mariners in 2013

-Pitched 25 innings during spring training with a 0.36 ERA

-Career ERA of 4.15

-ERA of 3.61 when he pitched for the Tacoma Rainiers

 

Robinson Cano – Second Baseman

-Played for the Yankees from 2005-2013, then began playing for the Mariners in 2014

-Career batting average of .310

-Six time All-Star

-Signed a 10-year contract with Mariners in 2013

-Has had 218 home runs through his whole career

 

Kyle Seager – Third Baseman

-Signed a 7-year contract extension with Mariners in 2014

-Career batting average of .262

-22 home runs in 2013, 25 in 2014

-Won the Gold Glove Award in 2014

 

Felix Hernandez (King Felix) – Pitcher 

-Born in Venezuela, has been with the Mariners since 2005

-On August 15, 2012, he threw the 23rd perfect game in MLB history

-Career ERA of 3.07

-Five time All-Star
