Pumpkin Patches Around San Diego

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at SDSU chapter.

Visiting a pumpkin patch is an essential part of the Halloween season. It gives you the opportunity to get out of your house and take a break from all the school work that’s probably taking over your life. And since Halloween only comes once a year, there is no better time than now to visit a local pumpkin patch! Luckily in San Diego there’s a variety of them to choose from. Here are 3 easy-to-visit pumpin patches around San Diego.

1. Pumpkin Station Mission Valley

This is a popular stop for many State students since it’s so close to school, located at the Mission Valley mall. This pumpkin patch even includes giant inflatables (you’re never too old for those) and a petting zoo!

Hours: 9:00am – 9:00pm

2. Summers Past Farms

This place is gorgeous and gives you a good family vibe that is hard to come by when you’re in college. They also have a soap shop, with a various amount of herbal products to buy, a barn shop, and most importantly–a coffee bar! (Also to note: there is a cat shelter across the street that you can visit and it can make the whole experience that much better.)

Hours: Wednesday – Saturday: 9:00am – 5:00pm; Sunday: 10:00am – 5:00pm

3. Farm Stand West and Fran’s Original Farm Stand

Farm Stand West and Fran’s Original Farm Stand are both located in Escondido, so it’s a little bit of a trip to get there, but it’s worth it in the end. Both locations have pick-it-yourself pumpkin patches and a Farmers Market (the best of both worlds).

Hours: 10:00am-6:00pm
