Finding Excuses to Wear HeelsBy October 5, 2012 - 2:31pm I’m definitely a shoe kind of girl. I’ve got about twenty-five different pairs sitting in my closet, and they’re all staring at me as I write this article. Especially the heels, which take up the most space and are often the least worn. I really like wearing heels, and I have no difficulty walking in them, but it seems that I have fewer and fewer chances to wear them. Saved for special events, professional and leadership seminars and interviews, and the occasional night out, my poor heels spend most of their time staring at me forlornly from the front row of my shoe rack. Tips for Grocery Shopping: How to Fine Dine on DimeBy September 12, 2012 - 2:55am Listen, I’m a fan of food. I’m also a fan of not paying the same amount as my college tuition to feed myself for a semester. So for those of you looking to save a little money, but still live off more than Top Ramen and Bagel Bites for the rest of college, I’ve compiled a few tips. 1) Look at places off-campus. Markets on campus and the immediate areas are going to be more expensive because you’re also paying for convenience. Whenever possible, go elsewhere for your groceries. Make friends with someone who has a car, or people who are willing to carpool. Carpooling is good for the environment and for your wallet, and it gives you a group of friends to make a mundanegrocery trip a little more fun.... |

Dipped Tips!By April 2, 2012 - 10:56pm A new season is upon us, meaning it’s time to shed our old winter layers and jump into the bright colors of spring! Two trends we love this season are: bright neon clothing pieces and “ombré” hairstyles. The first is easy to achieve: there’s no doubt our favorite stores—Forever 21, H&M, Express, and so on—will have tops and skirts to work into your wardrobe. The latter is the idea of having your hair color go from dark roots to lighter ends, whether it be from letting an old dye job grow out, or actually dying your tips a lighter hue. But what if we were to mix these two trends? READ MORE |

Mid-Year Resolutions: Making Better Choices Beyond the New YearBy March 8, 2012 - 2:22pm If you’re like me, your New Year’s resolutions only last through the first few weeks of the year. It’s not that you planned on giving them up so early; it’s just that you usually stop having time to follow through with all of them. Because let’s face it - no one has time to go to the gym all the time, or eat healthy all the time, or get more involved in school, or at least, you think you can’t. Or maybe that’s just me. Either way, I think the middle of the semester is a good time for some resolution revamping. As midterms come to a close, I think it’s a fine time we find a couple of little things to focus on for the rest of the semester. Like… Eating Better ... |

Gym Motivation: How to get your A** off the Couch and to the GymBy March 6, 2012 - 1:15pm Like most people in college, I am incredibly busy. Every week I have to work to fit a million different things into my schedule: school, work, friends, clubs, meetings, etc… the list goes on and on. The one thing that I tend to neglect when all these things become overwhelming is my body. I don’t know about you, but after a terrible day, packed with errands and homework galore, Panda Express and vegging in front of the television sounds like the greatest thing in the world. Unfortunately, thanks to science, and The Biggest Loser, we know that’s about the worst thing one can do to make his/herself feel better. Surprise, surprise!... |
