Now that it’s second semester, you may be bored constantly being on campus. San Diego has a lot to offer other beyond the beach and Mexican food. Here are seven places that you might not know about that you can explore this weekend!

1. Adobe Falls

Adobe Falls may require trespassing to get to but once you’re there, you enter a whole new world of weird and cool art. It’s a unique place to San Diego and only a mile away from campus over the 8 freeway. Come with your friends to take pictures and climb the grafitti-rocks. It’s a close and fun way to explore the city.

2. The Livingroom

This cozy coffee house is a great way to get away from school, whether it’s to study for midterms or enjoy a latte. Its unique environment makes it a staple to San Diego. Unlike normal cafes like Coffee Bean and Starbucks, The Livingroom has furniture just like you would find in your own home. Check this place if you want to go somewhere new to do your homework or want to grab a yummy brunch.

3. Lions, Tigers and Bears

Calling all animal lovers! Lions, Tigers and Bears is a big cat and exotic animal sanctuary just 30 minutes away from San Diego State. This sanctuary houses more than 60 exotic animals including bears, leopards, tigers, and even farm animals. Here, you can feed the animals and even gain volunteer opportunities.

4. Torrey Pines Hike

If you’ve ever wanted to do a beach hike, there’s an awesome one in San Diego. Torrey Pines is an easy hike but comes with a view that makes you feel like you’re in Hawaii. After going uphill, you’ll find yourself overlooking the Pacific ocean while exploring the and the trail leads you to the beach.

5. Spruce Street Bridge

If you’re looking to get over your fears of heights come to Bankers Hill! This is the home of Spruce Street Bridge, a suspension bridge that sways 70 feet above Kate Sessions canyon and is 375 feet long. If you’re feeling adventurous, check this place out!

6. Balboa Park

Balboa Park might be a well known place to many people because the San Diego Zoo is located here but it offers a lot more than just that! This park is home to botanical gardens, numerous museums, theaters, and much more. Balboa Park offers a lot of scenery and it’s the perfect place to explore if you’re in San Diego.

7. Sunset Cliffs

Sunset cliffs is perfect for the free spirit and those who just want to sit back and enjoy their surroundings. For those who want a little more adventure, cliff jumping into the ocean is very popular in this location. On the other hand it is also a perfect place to grab your friends, some blankets, and watch the sunset.
