6 Events You MUST Attend This Fall

1. #boohooOnTheRoad

Everyone needs a new wardrobe, especially for the beginning of the fall semester. boohoo.com is an online retailer that offers women a various range of dresses, knitwear, shoes, tops, bottoms, and accessories. Not only are their clothes cute and trendy, they are also affordable for a student on a college budget. This month, boohoo is giving students the opportunity to visit their pop-up shops at various locations, including a few stops in the San Diego area. #boohooOnTheRoad offers students themed games, promotions and a chance to win $1,000 to shop boohoo.com. The pop-up bus will also have various back-to-school fashion apparel. Look out for the three San Diego #boohooOnTheRoad stops: Qualcomm before the SDSU football game Saturday September 3rd 11am-6pm, Miller’s Field in Pacific Beach Sunday September 4th 12pm-8pm, and on campus Tuesday September 6 from 9am-5pm!

2. KAABOO Music Festival 

KAABOO is a three day music festival that takes place on the Del Mar Fairgrounds. Even though this festival is relatively new, it has gotten positive reviews from people all over. This year the lineup includes well-known bands such as: Fall Out Boy, Aerosmith, Grouplove, and Third Eye Blind. Along with musical acts, KAABOO also provides comedic acts every night. There is something for everyone, whether you love to rock out or you are looking for a night of laughter. One thing is for sure, you will have a terrific time, make great memories, and have some great new pictures for Insta. The best part is students get a discount!

When: Friday, September 16 – Sunday, September 18

 

3. Ocean Beach Oktoberfest

Bands, eating, contests, and the beach! What more could one ask for? Attending the annual Ocean Beach Oktoberfest is a great way to take your mind off of school. You are guaranteed a great time with friends. Every student knows that a day out away from studying is needed, especially in October. October is when you have finally reached that half way point in the semester and you are doing whatever it takes to make it through the rest of the year. Take a break and enjoy a day out right before the holidays hit! 

When: Friday, October 7, and Saturday, October 8

 

4. Old Town San Diego’s Day of The Dead

Old Town has always and will always be a hot local spot in San Diego. They have great Mexican food, scary ghost tours, and cute unique local shops. During Día de los Muetros (Day of the Dead) Old Town gets even better! There is dancing, eating, and face painting. Through art, music, and ritual Día de los Muertos honors ancestors and celebrates today’s community.It is encouraged that you dress up in Day of the Dead costume and/or sugar skull your face.The fun of dressing up doesn’t have to end on October 31st!

5. SDSU Concert Events

Beware, after these upcoming months you may become broke due to all of your money being spent on these amazing concerts. Starting in September, SDSU will host multiple musical acts including: Ray LaMontagne, Counting Crows, Chance The Rapper, Sia, and The 1975. Money spent on any of these concerts will be money well spent, no question about it. Cal Coast Open Air Theatre and Viejas Arena will be flooded with the sounds of great music and hundreds of cheering fans. Tip for Broke Students: You may be able to hear the music from outside of the Open Air Theatre.

6. Balboa Park December Nights

Kick this Holiday Season off right! Start celebrating at the start of December by attending this year’s holiday festival will take place for the 38th consecutive year. This is a great environment for anyone who is in the holiday spirit and wants to share some holiday joy. December Nights provides entertainment and multiple festival activities for people of all ages. When you enter the park you will be greeted by carolers, bell-ringers, and multi-cultural music/dance performers. End your night by taking a beautiful, breath-taking picture with your besties in front of the giant Christmas tree or perhaps the beautiful lit up museum.

When: Friday, December 2, and Saturday, December 3
