Sonya Venugopal: "Footloose"By May 16, 2013 - 5:16pm This past week I talked to Sonya Venugopal, one of the stars of the upcoming spring musical Footloose. She opened up about her past experiences in the spotlight, the ups and downs of rehearsal and what she loves to do when she’s not singing and dancing. Her spunky charm and warm personality are evident in person as much as they are on stage. Having performed in last year’s musical Little Shop of Horrors, Sonya will be gracing the stage once again as Ariel, the lead female role, this spring. Stay tuned -- this is a must see performance! Chris Paschal: The Man Behind Love JonesBy April 22, 2013 - 2:11am Spring quarter’s Love Jones performance was certainly a memorable one. With Locatelli jammed packed with students, it marked the largest turn out of the year for the tri-annual show. Organized and executed by Santa Clara’s Black Student Union, Igwebuike featured talented performances of music, poetry, and dance. The man behind the scenes was senior finance major, Chris Paschal. Hailing from Tracy, CA, Chris’s mark on SCU goes far beyond this show. READ MORE |

SCU Men's Basketball: Big RobBy March 5, 2013 - 2:26pm This past season, I had the pleasure of working in the office of the Santa Clara Men’s Basketball Team. I love my job as a go-getter, and I love being a part of the team. However, the funny thing is when I tell people I work for the team, they naturally assume I know all the players. The truth is I do “know” all of them—I know what positions they play, who played when, who scored what, where they are traveling the next weekend, and their favorite sandwich orders (it seems creepy, but I swear there’s a reason). However, they don’t know a thing about me. Why? Because I work behind the scenes making sure everything goes smoothly, whether that’s through picking up their sandwiches, copying paperwork, or helping out their coaches.... |

Sameer PaulBy February 16, 2013 - 7:49pm You may recognize Sameer Paul from around campus – as a leader on the Student Ambassador team, he has put in many hours giving tours and meeting prospective students. Some of us may have even had him on our student panels or tours while visiting Santa Clara! Sameer chose to be a part of this team because he loves SCU, and wanted to “have the opportunity to talk about the great things at SCU, as well as assist prospective students through the tough decision of choosing a college.” Raised in Austin, Texas, you can certainly see how this warm and charming senior possesses southern manners and charitable tendencies from his work, both on and off campus. Bend It Like Bucky: David BeckhamBy November 12, 2012 - 4:35pm It’s certainly not everyday that our campus is graced with the presence of a world-renowned athlete. Last Wednesday, David Beckham was on campus with his soccer team, the Los Angeles Galaxy, and battled the San Jose Earthquakes at Buck Shaw Stadium. One of the most famous and accomplished athletes to ever play the game of soccer, Beckham’s team beat the locals by a score of three to one during a nationally televised playoff game on ESPN 2.
