Traveling the World Place by Place: Bharath Ram Madhan Mohan

Have you ever wondered what it is like to study abroad and travel the world? If so, meet Bharath Ram Madhan Mohan! He is currently a foreign exchange student from India here at the University of Scranton. Each spring semester Bharath packs his bags to experience the world through study abroad programs available. His life is full of exciting adventures as he experiences various cultures. During an interview with Bharath he shared his insight, wisdom and a few fun facts about his studying abroad experiences thus far and his anticipations for more to come!

Major: Marketing and Entrepreneurship

HC: What do you miss most about living at home in India?

BM: Driving!!

 

HC: What is your favorite thing to do in America?

BM: Everything! I really enjoy spending my time in New York City.

 

HC: What is the best food you have had here in America?

BM: Mexican Food! Really anything spicy!

 

HC: Name your favorite places you have visited since coming to Scranton to study abroad?

BM: My favorite place that I have visited is Central Park in New York City. I also love the Dionne Greene here at Scranton. (What a loyal Royal!)

 

HC: How did you find and choose the University of Scranton?

BM: I found the University of Scranton through much research. I chose this school because of its distinguished Entrepreneurship program.

 

HC: Where do you plan on studying abroad next?

BM: Well every fall semester I study here at the University of Scranton. Last year I spent my spring semester at NYU. This spring semester I am traveling to London to study at the University of Westminster. As a junior I plan on spending my spring semester at sea! During this voyage I will get to stop and see 11 countries, 15 cities and four continents. Some of these places that I will get to see include: Hawaii, Japan, China, Vietnam, Croatia, and Germany.

HC: Name two fun facts about yourself!

BM: I am currently taking flying lessons and will soon obtain my pilot’s license! And I run my own company based in India. I am the Business Development Manager for Vijay Home Foods Inc.

HC: Lastly, do you have any advice for someone who is considering studying abroad?

BM: Do it! Do not question yourself on whether you should go or not! You should go! It is a must have experience in which you become aware of outside cultures.
