Thanksgiving Break As Told By Gossip Girl

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Scranton chapter.

Thanksgiving break is the first time many of us college students return home after leaving town in August. The first time we reunite with our home friends and families (and food), which is exciting but can also stir up some drama.

You return home and start to catch up with your parents who have certainly had their doubts about you living on your own.

You’re reunited with your high school friends and it’s like you had never left.

“Can you take a pic of us? I wanna insta” You run into people around town who you haven’t thought about in months.

…and they begin to brag about how successful they are now. You see that weird kid from high school who came out of his shell and is a TOTAL babe now.No one saw that coming…

Your friends share stories about their most regrettable nights at school and go into way too much detail.

You rekindle the flames with your hometown bae and everyone judges you for it.

It is definitely too late now to say sorry…

You finally get to party with your home friends- something you have been looking forward to since August.

But things take a turn for the worst when your parents tell you that a curfew is still in place…

“Be home by 12!”

Your relatives ask you a million questions about school, your major, your future, your career plans and you decide to be honest with them.

No Grandma, I still don’t have a boyfriend.”

You’ve been looking forward to this day all year and now you finally get to stuff your face with mashed potatoes and turkey.

Before you know it, the thanksgiving dinner leftovers will be finished and everyone will be heading back to school for the end of the semester…so enjoy it while you can!
