He was my “first smiling face” at Scranton and now your week’s profile. If the bouncing curls and big smile didn’t catch your attention already… I present to you, your student government president, David Bigley.
Name: David Bigley
Year: 2017
Major: Neuroscience
Status: Taken <3
Hometown: Stratford, CT
HC: What is a childhood memory you’ll never forget?
DB: So, another family and I went to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico when I was really little. During breakfast, the other kid my age and I went to the bar and ordered a round of shots for all of the parents. When the parents asked the waiter who ordered the shots, we excitedly admitted to it.
HC: Tell us more about being Student Government President.
DB: It’s a lot of work! I typically have 3 meetings a week. It’s exciting knowing that I represent the entire student body. The senate and cabinet are great to work with and we have a lot of great ideas. We’re redoing the Fitzpatrick field mural, you know the one by the turf; and we’re working on wellness being open on the weekends.. still trying to figure out how to do that. It’s a lot of behind the scenes stuff.
HC: What is one thing you would tell your freshman year self?
DB: I would probably say, “enjoy your freshman year and appreciate the next four years because they are going to fly by.”
HC: What’s your getaway spot in Scranton?
DB: Lackawanna State Park. There’s a section with picnic tables where you can just sit by the water and watch the sunset. It’s a good time. That, and Manning’s. You can do them both at the same time. It’s great.
HC: What’s your favorite food?
DB: A filet and lobster tail, absolutely. Welcome to Connecticut!
HC: You must tell us, how do you maintain your “flow”?
DB: TRESemmé. Lots of TRESemmé products. You have to go with the curling shampoo and conditioner. Then I use the anti-frizz product, that way I don’t have an afro. DON’T comb the hair.
HC: What’s an emoji that could describe you?
DB: This is a tough one, probably the rowboat emoji. Personally, I like to use the water to get away from the stress of everyday life.
HC: How do you feel about being in your senior year?
DB: It’s both scary and exciting. It’s exciting because I’m applying to go to medical school next year, but at the same time it’s scary because the last four years just flew by too fast. Overall, my time here has been amazing because I’ve had the greatest four years and I’ve made friends that I’ll have for ever and ever and ever.
HC: Anything crazy you want to check off your bucket list before you leave the U?
DB: I love pranks. I would love to pull off a great April Fool’s prank and get away with it without anyone knowing it was me. I can’t tell you the prank though or else you would know. *laughes*
