The Hunger Games, Black Friday Edition

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Scranton chapter.
  1. Eating so much.

FOOD! We love food and Thanksgiving allows us to stuff our faces without feeling guilty about it. Bring on the turkey, stuffing and sweet potatoes and bless the creator of leggings (we all know you’ll be wearing them come Thursday night.)

  2. Getting so excited to go out shopping.

A big screen TV for 30% off and that designer jacket you’ve wanted for months half off?! Who knew Christmas would come early this year? You think about all the amazing deals you’re going to get and can’t contain your excitement.

  3. Debating whether to go out because the turkey hit you.

Four courses later and the tryptophan (that thing in turkey that makes you sleepy) has finally hit… yes, it’s actually a real thing. Your excitement level has gone from a ten to zero and all you can think about is your bed.

  4. Getting caffeine.  It’s 2:00 a.m. and you couldn’t be more thankful for a Starbucks drive-thru. You’re onto your third cup of coffee already but their signature red cup has never looked better or kept your hands warmer.

  5. Forcing yourself and all your best girls to stand in the cold.

At this moment you’re thinking I have never, ever, ever been more cold in my life, why did I agree to this torture?! You’re definitely regretting not wearing that extra sweater right about now.

  6. Being let into the store.

You just froze for the past two hours standing in a line wrapped around the store, being let in the store is almost more exciting than the feast you just had, ALMOST.

  7. Realizing you’re not here for anything.

Having that “Oh SH*T” moment, realizing you don’t even know what is on sale and considering you just celebrated Thanksgiving, you’re just really thankful for all you have.

  8. Snapchatting all your friends a video of women fighting over a sale item.

Major LOL and everyone must see, you should probably just add it to “My Story”. People do crazy things for a good deal, yes that means tugging shirts and a flat screen television like they were three years old and someone was stealing their Barbie doll. Wait, how funny is it going to be to see people fight over Frozen Barbie’s this year, may the odds be in your favor Elsa.

  9. Getting a regular priced item.

Well this is awkward. Sometimes it’s just too cute to pass up even if you have to wait in-line for an additional two hours.

  10. Tweeting: Black Friday=1 Me=0.

Well considering you didn’t get a 75’ TV for $50 and waited in lines for approximately, four hours. Sorry, Black Friday won… take a nap though and remember there is always next year.
