Alright, I’m not going to lie, I tend to be a fangirl even at nineteen years old. I have looked up to so many women growing up like Selena Gomez, Zendaya, Nicole Kidman, Meryl Strep and many more. My current obsession happens to be with Gigi and Bella Hadid. I just simply think they’re so amazing in so many ways. They both stand for so many different issues in the fashion world, like not shaming someone for their body. They both acknowledge that women come in different shapes and sizes, and that is beautiful. The Hadid sisters are simply trend setters both in their own ways. Often times, people try to put them up against each other, but you cannot do that; they’re so uniquely different. What I love about Gigi and Bella is that they are both so accomplished, yet so humble. They support and love each other so much. I just love women empowering women.

Sisters who rock runways together, stay together. It is my favorite thing seeing these two sisters walk on the catwalk together. Every fashion week, month, or season; Gigi and Bella are always doing it together. This past month was spring fashion month across the globe. So, from cities like London, Milan, Paris, New York City and many more; have been infested with all kinds of models. It must be comforting to have a sibling with you along the way, but the Hadid girls stay strong together.

Both have graced that cover of Vogue Magazine in different countries multiple times, have been awarded and nominated for Model of the Year, and have walked the Victoria’s Secret Runway; but still they get compared constantly. I do not think it is fair to compare anyone, but especially not sisters in the fashion industry. They are both making a career for themselves, although it may be both in modeling they are totally different people! They are alike in so many ways, but very different as well.

Gigi is a blonde bombshell. Blonde, tan, and tall. Her face is extremely structured, but soft at the same time. She has the face of a porcelain doll. Gigi brings that California girl style to the fast paced moving streets of New York City, that is where her edginess comes from. She reminds me of an icon like Grace Kelly or Twiggy, she will never go out of style.

Bella is for a sure a wild child. She has the total 90’s grunge look going on and I give her a lot of credit for these trends for coming back in. Just like her sister, Bella’s cheekbones are on fleek. Her face is so structured; she reminds me of a statue of an Athenian Goddess, carved out so very carefully. Bella’s dark brown hair compliments her tan skin, but then her baby blue eyes pop right out. Bella gives me a Winona Ryder meets Cindy Crawford from the 90’s type of vibe. She pulls off unique pieces of clothing, but in her own effortless type of style. Bella brings the old school to the new school for our generation.

I don’t know who I am think I am writing this article… I think I’m channeling Tyra Banks from America’s Next Top Model. Whatever, everyone has a piece of Tyra in them! *Smizes while typing*

What I admire about these two is that they have such a prominent role in today’s fashion world, but also use their voices for the greater good. They are not afraid to tell anyone how it truly is. They speak up about social issues going on in the country and our outspoken about it. Most of all they are not afraid to be themselves. Which is something I have trouble with, being confident and truly being me. I want to be a strong, independent woman, and I know I can learn from a little help from the Hadid’s.
