Connecting with the universe – sounds mystical, right? But it’s closer and more practical than one might think. Before jumping right into connecting with the universe first we need to understand what that even means. First off, we are connected to, or rather in relationship with, the world areound us. A relationship is more than the Webster definition of “the state of being related or interrelated,” it is the connection of emotions, feelings, thoughts, ideas, body parts, etc. between people or things.
It all starts within. Starting with theses two questions: Do I think positively? Am I continuously positive while completing difficult tasks or going through difficult situations in my life? These questions allow us to self-evaluate your relationship to the world around you. We are all very much connected to the universe and since our thoughts eventually form our life, they are super key in determining how we relate to and even impact the world.
After taking this survey to some of the people at SCAD Atlanta, I found some of the answers quite interesting. One finding:
People who practice positive thinking also practiced self-empowerment.
Tia Mack, a freshman graphic design major said “Well you can’t go around being pessimistic. You have to maintain happy thoughts. Positive thoughts about the task at hand.” I found just what I was looking for with this question. It’s like the Law of Attraction. All things we think about turn into reality at some point. In other words, you ask and you shall receive is what the law of attraction is. Tia Mack exemplifies this – she continues to stay proactive with what she wants to achieve and she eventually achieves the things she shoots for.

After my poll, I realized a couple of things. People that exemplify this kind of positive thinking had to better outcomes; they are happier, produce better quality work and things in life just seemed to generally go in their favor. You may have heard this saying before:
You get out, what you put in.
It is very true. For those who found it difficult to practice positive thinking, they tend to have a harder time. They were stressed more, less social, feel like they lack something in their life.
Think of your thoughts and imagination as being a part of the universe. When you form a positive bond with the universe (think of the things you want to happen), more of the things you want will come to you. But only if you remain positive and proactive with your thoughts. You can easily get stuck under negativity. Remember, thoughts are energy and they are powerful. And, so are you.
