How to transition your wardrobe from summer to fall

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at SBU chapter.

We’re currently in that awkward Western New York phase between summer and fall where we’re constantly questioning what’s appropriate to wear. Here are a couple tips I’ve found to be useful:

1.  Ballet flats and Converse. They’re the perfect medium between flip flops and Uggs.

2.  Wear a light jacket to your morning classes before it warms up.

3.  It’s still okay to wear gladiator sandals. Try wearing them with jeans and a light sweater or long-sleeved shirt and you’ll be good to go.

4.  Pair some tights or a cardigan with your cute summer dresses to make them last into September.

5.  It’s not too early to wear scarves! Pair your new scarf with a tank or dress.

6.  Don’t put away your shorts just yet. You can totally wear them on a warmer day with a chunky sweater and some booties.

7.  Pair your favorite denim vest with a long sleeve shirt and some leggings for a warmer look.

8.  Colored jeans should be your best friend. They keep the fun of summer outfits alive while keeping you warm.

9.  You can still wear those fashionable bralettes you bought this summer. Put them under an off-the-shoulder sweater for a little extra something.
