From October to November Real Quick!

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at SAU chapter.

As October is ending and November is quickly approaching, it’s goodbye Halloween and hello Thanksgiving. These are a few things that I cannot wait for as the new holiday approaches.

  1. Thanksgiving food. When I think Thanksgiving, all I think is FOOD. A break away from the cafeteria food or those random dinners in your room where you throw together anything you have in the fridge and call it good, makes that Thanksgiving dinner sound so good. Whether it’s the turkey, stuffing, green bean casserole, rolls, or that pumpkin pie made by your grandma which you swear is the best thing ever, it all just tastes perfect together, and even better as leftovers. Also can’t forget the mashed potatoes, because we all know if there is mashed potatoes, everyone is happy! You can’t say it was a good meal, if you’re not stuffed, ready for that post meal nap.

2. Black Friday

If you’re one to be able to brave the crazy shoppers and ridiculously long lines then black friday shopping is for you. Getting to the stores super early and not finishing till after the crack of dawn, some people will literally shop till they drop and do anything to get those great deals. It’s definitely something you need to prepare yourself for, but it’s worth saving a little money, not to mention, people watch! The $5 movies at Target are my number one stop every year.

3. Football

Whether it’s on tv in the comfort of your home with a couple friends and some good food or in the stands where the air is chilly and the hot chocolate is hot, it’s officially football season!

4. Break from school

Every college student deserves a break from school work and all the stress it brings. As soon as November hits, Thanksgiving break is on everyone’s mind where everyone is excited to go back home for a week. Being home able to relax, while spending time with friends and family is definitely a need.

5. Pumpkin this and pumpkin that

Tis the season for pumpkin everything! It’s the time when fall scented candles and soaps are making there way into the stores, and instantly you’re trying to fight that urge to buy about ten. Just about anything and even things you wouldn’t imagine pumpkin flavored also are making appearances, spiking your desire for all pumpkin things that just happens to come about during this time of the year. Pumpkin flavored cereal, pumpkin spice coffee and donuts, and even… pumpkin poptarts?
