May Showers Bring June Flowers?

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at SAU chapter.

We’re one week into May, and it’s safe to say that there have been just as many rainy days as there were in April. The term “April showers bring May flowers,” no longer applies because based on next week’s weather forecast, the rain has only just begun. No matter where you’re at these next few months, there are a few things you might need in order to properly protect yourself from the dreaded thunderstorms.

Raincoat: Cover up your beloved Ambrose T-shirt with a cute yet totally practical raincoat. A pink or white shade can attract attention while straying away from the classic rubber duck yellow often seen.

Rainboots: If you don’t have a pair of these staple shoes by now, I highly suggest them. Keep your feet dry and away from any nearby mud.

Umbrella: I know what you’re thinking. “Obviously I need an umbrella to stay out of the rain. I’m not stupid.” However, umbrellas can do so much more. Not only can they tie your entire outfit together, but they can also be used to pick up a cute boy. “Oh, it’s raining and you’re in a T-shirt? Here, you can share my umbrella with me. What was your name again?” Works every time.

Check out Target.com to find stylish but affordable pieces to wear this season. You’ll be able to successfully dress for spring while still ballin’ on a college student budget.
