How to be safe during House Crawl & Last Blast

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at SAU chapter.

Only drink what you can handle.

Nobody wants to be the sloppy mess at Rooks or the person jumping into the pond in Vanderveer (trust me I have been there). Take breaks, drink some water, and go to the bathroom a few thousand times.

Don’t take a nap!

Drinking from 9 a.m. through the afternoon can be tiring, but taking a nap after you shove some Papa Johns pizza down your throat isn’t the best idea. You will most likely wake up at 6 p.m. with a hangover. And getting ready to drink more later that night will make you sick just thinking about it.

Dress Cute and Comfy!

Match with your friends and make sure you look good! The pictures are the best part, but make sure you’re comfy. Drinking when your pants are too tight is always a pain.

Be aware of where you go.

9 out of 10 times that you step into a campus house party, it will get caught and you will get a drinking ticket. It doesn’t matter if you’re 21 or even if you are not drinking, you will still get a ticket. (Lol trust me, I’ve been there too).

And this will be your face when you find out there is a $50-$100 charge on your school account that says “Drinking Violation.”

And this will be your parents’ face

Turn on your location with your friends.

If you’re ever lost, or find yourself in a situation that you don’t want to be in, make sure you share your location with your friends. This lets them know where you are and when.
