We brought you the power of the MaAaAgic coat, and now SAU Her Campus is back for the power of—yup, you guessed it, the magic hat.

I used to refuse to wear hats. They’re for boys, right? Girls are only supposed to wear those cutesy fancy hats from the Kentucky Derby or the ones with sequins from Limited Too.

Now I (sometimes/a lot of times) refuse to wash my hair. Now hats are a way of life. And if you haven’t noticed, times have changed and hats are pretty cool. Especially sock (stocking) hats that you could fit a small family of Polly Pockets inside.

Not only do hats trap approximately 908% of your body heat from your head, but they also serve the following pretty nifty purposes:

            1. They hide the worst of your grease-ball ness (especially during finals).

            2. They make you look kinda bad @$$ (Cara Delevingne, Kylie Jenner, etc.).

            3. You can hide food under them.

            4. They’re really, really warm.

            5. You can totally, like, match them to your outfit and stuff.

            6. They’re really, really, REALLY warm. Emphasis on the really warm.

And if that’s not enough, there’s now a way to wear a sweet hat, stay warm and help out a great cause. St. Ambrose now has a Love Your Melon crew—an on campus group that promotes the LYM organization’s warm winter hats in exchange for the opportunity to deliver the very same hats to children at the University of Iowa Children’s hospital. Visit their Facebook page or www.loveyourmelon.com for more info.

Stay warm and stay stylish, Beez. Happy Holla-days.

PS- Amateur selfie-taker. Hopefully this does not become a reoccuring event.

I'm Maddi(son). I like to talk, laugh, and eat cake and peanut butter in copious amounts. Call me maybe.
