This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at SAU chapter.

This week’s Campus Celebrity is senior Amber Yaddof! She enjoys spending her time catching up on Grey’s Anatomy and overdosing on Azteca’s chicken and rice, but she can be found doing so much more than that.

Hometown? Davenport, IA

Major/minor?  Biology major, Psychology minor

Interests or hobbies?

Running, looking at pictures of puppies, and making memories with my friends, family, and amazing roommates!

Involvement around campus?

Secretary of TriBeta Biological Honor Society, Morale Captain for SAU Dance Marathon, Information Desk work study (according to the campus tour guides she knows “everything”) and 2-year member of the SAU Dance Team.

What is your dream job?

My dream job would be working as an orthopedic Physician Assistant, working in surgery to help individuals get back to living long, healthy lives.

What are your plans after graduation?

After graduation, I will go on to receive my Master of Physician Assistant Studies.

Do you have any role models?

My parents! They have taught me so much about life, always remind me to be kind and respectful towards others, and have constantly supported and encouraged me with anything I put my mind to. They are pretty awesome!

How did you get involved in Dance Marathon?

Last year was my first year participating in Dance Marathon, and I couldn’t have been more happy with my decision to get involved with such an amazing organization! After that, I knew I had to become more involved this year.

What is your role with Dance Marathon?

Morale Captain! There’s still time to join Team #1! :)

What is you favorite part of Dance Marathon?

My favorite part is interacting with the miracle kiddos and families. They are the reason we do what we do – stand for 12 hours and raise money for the Children’s Miracle Network Hospital – in hopes to raise awareness of these childhood illnesses and bring more smiles and laughter to the miracle families lives.

Do you have any advice for underclassmen?

Make the most of your time at St. Ambrose! Join a new club, introduce yourself to someone down the hall, and get an omelet from Owen in the caf every morning possible. These are easily the best 4 years of your life and time goes by much faster than you think.

Favorite quote/motto to live by?

“So keep your head high, keep your chin up and most importantly, keep smiling, because life’s a beautiful thing and there’s so much to smile about.” – Marilyn Monroe

3 things people don’t know about you?

1. I love to knit (already preparing for retirement)

2. This is my 2nd year being a dance coach at my high school.

3. I danced on the National Championship winning dance team for SAU in 2012. The first ever National Championship Ambrose won!
