Meet Farnoush Amiri (@farnoushava), Brand Ambassador for ASOS

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at San Francisco chapter.

For our latest Campus Celebrity article, we decided to get in touch with the author of many of the fashion and lifestyle articles offered on Her Campus: Farnoush Amiri. I don’t know if it’s the fact that she probably is the next Anna Wintour or Leah Chermikoff (ELLE), or the fact that she is pretty much the queen of Instagram, but I was pretty excited to be the one to interview her this morning. You probably know her for her insightful writing, but I wanted to know more about her other job, as a Brand Ambassador for ASOS. But I first decided to dig a little into her past:

Her Campus: How did you end up in SF?

Farnoush: I transferred from Orange County as a Junior, and I am majoring in Journalism.

HC: Have you written anywhere besides HerCampus?

Farnoush: Yes, I actually had my own fashion column in my previous college’s newspaper, and I also covered cool events such as L.A Fashion Week. I conducted interviews… Tt was pretty fun meeting all these great people. I couldn’t see myself doing anything else.

HC: I take it your dream job would be…

Farnoush: Writer for VOGUE, ELLE, Glamour…

HC: What do you do besides work?

Farnoush: I love to write for leisure. I write poetry, or just my thoughts. I also like to read, and the number one thing I like to do is travelling! Movies and concerts follow. But writing and travelling, definitely.

HC: About this really cool job that you have…Can you tell us more about it?

Farnoush: Sure! I am a Brand Ambassador for ASOS at SFSU, which is one of the UK’s largest online-only fashion and beauty stores. What I do is promote the brand through social media and on-campus events: I do givaways with gifts and vouchers from ASOS, and I post everything I do online to create awareness.

HC: That sounds like a great job! How did you get involved?

Farnoush: I have known about it for a while, and I really enjoyed buying from them. I told my friends who told their friends; I was basically advertising for free. I don’t believe in talking and sharing stuff about a brand I don’t respect and truly love. I wear their clothes all the time; it’s very natural. One day, I received an email and I was asked to be their Brand Ambassador. I went through the interview process and got the job!

HC: Lucky girl! And since we’re at it, what are your favorite Spring/Summer items that we can find on ASOS?

Farnoush: Definitely rompers and jumpsuits; they’re so easy to wear! You can just throw them on, accessorize and you’re done. Hats are my favorite accessories at the moment.

HC: Thank you for taking the time to talk to Her Campus! Do you have any advice for young girls wanting to enter the Fashion Industry?

Farnoush: Be patient. It will come to you; don’t rush. If you really love what you do, it comes to you at the right time. I used to collect all the major fashion issues in my room since I was 9, and I didn’t even know that I wanted to be a Fashion writer. I was just always very good at writing, and I actually took my first journalism class by accident: the best thing that ever happened to me.”
