Salisbury Spring Olympics: Battle of the Residence Halls!

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Salisbury chapter.

Let the battle commence!

Salisbury University’s Spring Olympics is back and better than ever. Each year, students team up with their residence halls to compete in events challenging both their physical and intellectual skills. This year’s events last from Wednesday, April 19th to Saturday, April 22nd and the residence hall with the most total points wins a trophy and ultimate bragging rights.

Her Campus caught up with some contestants to get their thoughts on the experience.

University Park resident Glenise Mbah said that she has been participating in in the Spring Olympics since freshman year.

“As an upperclassman, I’ve judged events and played as well,” Mbah said. ” I’m a senior now and today I played Red Light Green Light.”

Resident Assistant Karla Chicas said in her freshman year she participated in the Hula Hoop Pass. This year she came in with a new job.

“I am a sophomore now and I’ve judged the events this year.”

Though Spring Olympics is competetive, students do have a fun time during their event and shared their thoughts about it.

“It’s a great event to promote team bonding in a competitive and exciting way,” Mbah said.

“The Spring Olympics is a chance to bring the buildings together and gives students a break from their studies,” Chicas said.” It’s a great chance to be a kid in college.”

Overall, the Spring Olympics is an invaluable opportunity to meet other students and show your skills, all while having fun and bringing glory to your residence hall! Have you participated in the Spring Olympics this year? Tell us how you liked it below.
