As college students, we are always pinching pennies and trying to make the most of the items we buy. Recently, I discovered an incredible way to acquire the most natural, healthy, cost effective, and simple body/face scrub.

I do not think I will ever buy body wash ever again! Sugar scrubs not only clean my skin, but exfoliate, and moisturize it at the same time. They are also so easy and fun to make. Plus, you feel sustainable because you are reducing unnecessary waste from one-time use body product containers.

Here is the recipe for Vegan:

Vegan Sugar Scrub

Ingredients:

Olive Oil

Pure Cane Sugar

Essential Oil (of your choice)

Tools:

A large bowl

A wooden cooking spoon

Storage:

A reused jar from some old salsa, pasta sauce, or anything you have

(Just be sure you clean it very well. I recommend running it through the dish washer.)

Directions:

1. Take out a large bowl and pour 1-3 cups of sugar into the bowl (depending on how large your jar is)Add 0.5-1.5 cups of olive oil to the bowl and stir with a wooden spoon

2. Add 0.5-1.5 cups of olive oil to the bowl and stir with a wooden spoon

3. Adjust olive oil until scrub reaches desired consistency

4. Add 5-10 drops of essential oil to your mixture and stir it in

5. Use the spoon to transfer the mixture into the jar

6. Enjoy!

Tips:

*Avoid Extra Virgin Olive Oil unless you want your whole mixture to smell like olive oil. I recommend purchasing just standard virgin olive oil.

*Have extra? These make awesome and affordable gifts for your friends.
