Study Tips for Exam Season

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Toronto MU chapter.

As exam season dawns upon us, we wanted to share some of our favourite tips to get you ready to ace all of your exams. Do you have any tips? Let us know!

1. Go on a social media detox

We’re all active on social media and sometimes it can be tempting to check your Twitter or Instagram. However, a lot of time is wasted when we continuously check our networks and don’t end up getting any work done. Set a schedule to check your social media accounts or if you’re brave shut them off entirely. Remember, it’s only temporary— once you ace your exams you can come back and your followers will still be there too.

2. Set small study goals

We all the feeling of promising ourselves that we’ll catch up on our work. We usually dedicate a weekend or a day off to complete everything that we have due. As a result, the mounting pressure gets to us and we don’t end up getting anything done. Instead split larger tasks into smaller ones. Create schedule that will help you stay on track and take breaks in between.

3. Create a study-friendly environment for yourself

Studying in a comfortable environment is the best thing you could do for yourself before you set up on your study session. Make sure you have natural lighting, with all of your materials, and free of distractions.
