How did you get involved with Her Campus?

I saw a post in a class Facebook group by our then-CC, Kellie, and it was like an omen for me! I needed something to distract myself, and sent Kellie an email (I still have it) and dove head first into HC. A few months later, I started writing for national in addition to my chapter, then I had a winternship with HC, and became a Campus Expansion Assistant, and now I’m the CC at Western, a Chapter Advisor, and a viral content writer!

What is your favorite part of working with Her Campus?

I love meeting all the girls, and I love how honest they are in their writing. Their writing is so open, and so incredible, and I have learned so much from them.

How has life changed for you since moving from LA to London?

I never thought I would be where I am. I’ve changed my program a few times, and I’ve met people I never would have met if I hadn’t left LA, and those people have changed my life. I’m very happy with the way my life is going, and I wouldn’t change it!

Who do you look up to? What is it about them that inspires you?

I really look up to my father. He raised me all on his own, and I used to be a demon, so I’m very impressed that he raised someone so amazing (clearly I’m biased). I also really look up to my stepmom—she’s been through some hard times, but she is still the most patient, kindest person I’ve ever met.

In your crystal ball, what do you see for yourself?

I hope to have a minimum of 3 dogs, be working a job that makes me happy and doesn’t make me wake up early. That’s the extent of my goals for the future for now. My goals are constantly changing, so hopefully my future will become more clear sometime soon.

What creative outlets do you have?

Obviously, writing. And cleaning and organizing. Those don’t sound creative, but there are so many different ways to organize your sock drawer

List two of your favorite comfort foods:

Chocolate over everything. And potatoes in pretty much any form with cheese on them. You can’t go wrong.

What problems do you hope our generation will fix?

There are so many problems that could be fixed if we didn’t get so caught up in the bureaucracy of things. I love animals, and I think animal abuse would be an amazing thing to fix. I also have been learning a lot in my courses about human trafficking, and I think that governments need to step in and take responsibility to and stop prevent human trafficking.

What’s one piece of advice you would give your younger self?

Not to be so hard on myself! That’s my fatal flaw for sure—I am so hard on myself and I don’t need to be. I’m doing pretty well, if I say so myself, but that doesn’t stop me from beating myself up for no reason.
