What Brands Love the Earth as Much as You Do?

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Rutgers chapter.

We love brands that love the earth! However, it gets *kind of complicated* when you want to show the earth some love by making better shopping decisions but still feel compelled to give into companies and brands you definitely know are not eco-friendly or sustainable because you prefer their products. Don’t worry though, you don’t need to make any super drastic changes to your lifestyle or your wardrobe if you want to make choices that are more considerate towards the environment and world that you live in. Being more aware of the company and brand practices behind the products you invest in will make you feel better about where your money is going towards, which is hopefully a happier planet. And odds are, you are already making purchases from brands that make eco-friendly decisions! Here are some brands (maybe new, maybe old) that make sustainable and earth-loving decisions:

Lush

Lush is a huge hit not only because of their fun products and smells but also for the ethical, natural, and sustainable ingredients they use in all their products. This has definitely set Lush apart from some of the other big-name competitors in the market. So what’s next for Lush? Well, packaging accounts for 58% of plastic waste, so Lush is working on innovative ways to make their packing sustainable.

Burt’s Bees

While the first thing you may think of when you see this company is the lip balms, Burts Bee is so much more than that. They are well known for their responsible sourcing of natural ingredients, transparency, and sustainability of their brand. The company has even pledged to make all their product formulas and packaging 100% sustainable by 2020. They’ve also pledged to become a carbon-free company operating on 100% renewable energy by 2020.
