Fun Events at Rutgers University to Celebrate GAYpril

“Gayapril” is a wonderful time of the year for students around Rutgers to expand their knowledge of the LGBTQ community around them. The organizations around Rutgers have a great line up of events that honor and celebrate “Gaypril”. Be sure to check out a few of these wonderful events!

  1. April 2nd: Join this RUPA sponsored event as the “GAYpril” opening ceremony is hosted by Lena Waithe as she engaged with the #RULGBTQA community! No tickets required, and free food will be served!

  2. April 4th: Come learn about the issues of LGBT identity and disability from Dr. Matthew Witter, from Rutgers Counseling, Alcohol and Other Drug Assistance Program & Psychiatric Services (CAPS), hosted by the Queer Student Alliance

  3. April 6: Queer Crafternoons: Join the Center for Social Justice Education as they kickoff their Queer Carfternoons with an afternoon of button making.

  4. April 13: Queer Crafternoon- Painting. If button making isn’t for you then stop by the following week for an afternoon of painting as you learn more about the LGBTQ community.

  5. April 21: The LLEGO Presents: The 11th Annual Queer Ball. Come by the College Ave Student Center for an evening filled with tons of fun, music, laughter, and joy! This year’s theme for the Queer Ball is Fairytale.

  6. April 25: Queer Student Alliance Meeting: Join the Queer student alliance as they meet and discuss important issues regarding sexual identity.

  7. April 27: Gay Pride Shabat. If you’ve never been to one of the wonderful Shabat dinners hosted at 70 College Ave, then be sure to stop by! This is a great way to learn about LGBTQ culture and community.
