Rowan University presents Psycho Beach Party now through March 2nd. Escape the bitter chills of Winter and get a taste of Summer in this comedic play parodying 60s beach films.

Set in Ocean City, the plot follows the life of Chicklet Forrest whose dream is to surf waves like the boys. Summertime is quickly disturbed as teenage beach-goers are mysteriously found to be completely shaved. Later, it is discovered that the surfer chick psychopath suffers from Dissociative Identity Disorder (Multiple Personality Disorder) after witnessing a traumatic childhood experience. The production also bends gender roles and exposes stereotypes between men and women.

The cast, consisting of current Rowan students and graduates, performs extraordinarily well. At the start of the play, they are interactive with the audience members. The effervescent actors run through the auditorium seating and get everyone excited for the production. After all, it is a party!

You’ll laugh. You’ll shriek in horror at the suspenseful events on the edge of your seat. You’ll have a great time! This is one thrilling wave you certainly do not want to miss! Come out and see the play while you can! Psycho Beach Party is staged in Tohill Theatre located in Bunce Hall. Tickets are free for Rowan University students.
