Creative Corner: “Battle Scars”

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Rowan chapter.

“Battle Scars”

Battle scars are still with me

I wish they would fade but they are still here

Every time I think the hurt is gone

It comes back harder than ever

It won’t be happy until it consumes my life

In the end, I will be completely empty

For now, I’m slowly breaking down

Pushing away anyone who cares

To me it’s all fake sincerity from people

Who don’t know the truth

Only I know my battle scars

No one cares, no one knows, no one will

I am a Writing Arts major at Rowan University. Poetry is my best friend. One day, I hope to be a successful writer for a popular magazine in NYC. My dream is to travel to Paris, London, and Rome to explore and write about my experiences there.
