Matthew Vega has three qualities that have ladies at Rider swooning his way: a gorgeous bright smile, big sparkling eyes, and an irresistible charm. We wasted no time tracking this cutie down. Here he talks to us about why he compares himself to Jack Dawson and dishes about his worst dating experience.

Q: So Mr. Cutie, if you had to rank yourself from 1 to 10, what would you rank yourself?

A: Wow this is a tough question. I would say I am a 8.7. Firstly, because I believe no one in this world is a perfect 10 just being that perfection is hard to obtain naturally and those who say they are 10s are 1’s deep inside because they lie to themselves. Secondly, I have a very outgoing personality and I am very kindhearted.  I love to see people happy and will try my best to give a person in need a helping hand.

Q: What do you most get complimented on?
A: I get the most compliments on my lips and smile. I do like it because I feel they are my best features because my smile melts hearts. Just kidding, but I truly do love my lips and smile. It does help with my confidence a little bit. I just tend to do the LL Cool J and smile.

Q: Switching gears, how do you let a girl know you like her?
A: I am by far the bluntest person in the world I never bite my tongue, I learned that wasted time is a wasted existence; so I say what I feel and if I get turned down regroup and keep it in motion.

Q: Would you consider yourself to be romantic?
A: Well, I’m nowhere near being Jack Dawson or Noah but I know I’m far from Van Gogh. I wouldn’t consider this to be romantic one time when my ex-girl friend was sick I walked 5.8 miles in the pouring rain to bring her soup because her mom was at work. I did it because I was really into her and she was my girlfriend in the 8th grade.

Q: Did anyone ever help you figure out how to ask out a girl?
A: No one ever helped me ask a girl out. I never was the type to ask for help. I like to live and learn so at first I was very timid and shy but as time went on I just became a professional at talking to females and all that shy stuff went out the window. That is why I am as blunt as I am. The best advice I give my friends is “be yourself and speak from your heart if you cant be real with her then it wont work because that means it all started on a lie, so be yourself and everything will fall in place”.
Q: Did you ever have a girl ask you out?
A: A few girls have asked me out but the most memorable was in 10th grade. I was walking on the main block in my town and this random girl said, “damn he’s cute and you know I love dudes with long hair” (when I had long hair) to her friend. Long story short she asked me for my number and asked me if I wanted to catch a movie or just hang out later, and I said yes… to fast forward we ended up dating for eight months

Q: Your first crush, what drew you to her?
A: The thing that drew me to my first crush was that she had the most beautiful smile and dimples. (I have a weakness for dimples). Besides her smile, she was the nicest person ever she would do anything for others. We were friends for three years and I never told her how I felt, one day when I built up enough courage to tell her it was too late she already had a boyfriend. We ended up dating in the 8th grade for six months but then she moved to Florida and we haven’t spoke since sophomore year in high school.

Q: What was your worst dating experience?
A: My worst dating experience would have to be… in the 9th grade when I asked a girl to go to the movies with me and she brought her five-year-old little sister along because her parents went to a party last minute. Not only was the date horrible, but I had to watch sisterhood of the traveling pants…depressing.
