Fashion Do’s and Don’t’s for Pig Roast

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Richmond chapter.

Whether you are a freshmen or just want a little extra help picking out what to wear this year, this guide will help you figure out what you should and shouldn’t wear! Although these opinions are my own, I feel as if these ideas would be constructive for anyone going to one of the most celebrated events of the year!

DON’T wear something you wouldn’t want to get beer spilled on

Last year I walked back to my dorm drenched in sticky alcohol with stains on my dress. Pig Roast is the one day of the year where people feel that they can really let loose…so make sure to not overlook the fact that anything you wear can and will get ruined.

DO wear bright colors

It could be a dress, a romper, a cute two piece, whatever, just make sure you look like you are celebrating spring, even if it may be raining.

DON’T wear your lodge shoes

Don’t be deceived by the fact that the roast is at the lodges, most people will be wearing cute sandals or wedges as part of this traditional celebration!

DO paint your toenails

Unless you are wearing close toed shoes, don’t forget to give yourself a cute pedi the day before or else you will forget until you’re taking photos and your feet are in the pictures

DON’T wear expensive jewelry you wouldn’t want to get ruined

Don’t forget that the event can get pretty rowdy and although you may want to wear your nicest necklace with your cute dress, keep in mind it could fall off and be lost in the grass behind the frats forever…

DO wear something you feel cute and confident in

The best feeling in the world is when you go out and pass a mirror and think, “wow I look cute”. Although a lot of people will be dressed up, wear something you can be comfortable in all day long!
