While St. Jude is Tri Delta’s official philanthropy, Rhodes United for St. Jude is the organization NOT limited to members of Tri Delta, and is exclusively dedicated to advocacy and fundraising for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. We are constantly clinging to our phones, checking it every minute because we need to check the weather, the latest sports updates, and/or pin our favorite things to our Pinterest. But who can blame us? We are capable of doing so many different things with our phones and the people who think of all these interesting apps make our lives so much easier on-the-go. Sheryl Sandberg Challenges Collegiettes to Lean InBy March 25, 2013 - 2:00pm Sheryl Sandberg, Chief Operating Officer of Facebook and author of Lean In: Women, Work, and the Will to Lead is on a mission to spark a national conversation about women’s place in the world. Although the opportunities for women in America are seemingly endless, they are still limited because of the male dominated nature of the workforce and the choice that women feel they are forced to make between a career and a personal life or family of their own. Typically I am skeptical of the feminist perspective, but Sandberg’s focus on gender equality rather than feminine superiority intrigued me, and her message is particularly relevant to college women, as we are at a pivotal point of decision making which will set the stage for the rest of our lives.... |

"Faith in America's Future": President Obama's Second InaugurationBy January 29, 2013 - 2:00am The week of January 21st was exciting and chaotic for Washington D.C., as it hosted President Obama’s Swearing-in Ceremony, Inaugural Address, Inaugural Parade, and several nights of galas to celebrate his second term as President of the United States. The Inauguration represented not only Obama’s success individually, but also was an inspiring display for Americans, as it served as a reminder of the racial equality we have achieved as a nation since the time of Martin Luther King (MLK day coincided with the events), as well as the plans Obama has for the nation to move forward, after four years of economic hardship during his previous term.
