All the Valentine’s Day Style and Beauty Inspiration You Need

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Rhodes chapter.

Whether your Valentine’s Day plans include a date or just sitting on your couch, it’s fun to take style and beauty inspiration from a holiday. If you want to enjoy feeling festive even just for going to class, read on for ideas about fashion, hair, and makeup for February 14th (or any other time!).

  1. I’m obviously loving pale pink for Valentine’s Day. I love this look because it’s still relatively comfortable, but with those incredible heels to make it feel special.

  2. This is such a whimsical take on Valentine fashion. The cute heart sweater is casual yet festive, and the fun bright red boots add a pop of color.

  3. For a more dressed-up special occasion type of look, this bright pink dress is awesome. The simple black shoes with the ankle strap are super cute, and I’m a sucker for a bow on the back of a dress.

  4. Sometimes you just want to look less casual, but don’t want to wear a dress. This outfit is great for that. The blouse and pants create a simple foundation for the faux fur jacket and awesome shoes to spice up.

  5. For chillier weather, this lace dress is a great pick. The pretty soft pink is incredibly Valentine’s Day appropriate.

  1. The faux fur collar on this pretty jacket would make any simple outfit look glamorous. This is a cute option for colder weather.

  2. This short-sleeved soft pink lace dress achieves a low-effort dressed-up look. Classic pearl earrings and gorgeous metallic heels complete the ensemble.

  3. The short pink dress in this outfit keeps the faux fur jacket looking young and cool rather than “raided Grandma’s closet”.

  4. If you need to look professional this Valentine’s Day but to find a way to look festive, this look is your answer. It’s just pink enough and would be appropriate for most any business-oriented occasion.

  5. This metallic skirt outfit is fun and holiday-appropriate while still being something you could wear to a more low-key occasion. Alternatively, it would also be great for something less casual. (And unsurprisingly I’m in love with the pink of the jacket!)

I am obsessed with this style of shoe! I love a good chunky heel, but these remain dainty-looking, which is unique for this heel type. The shoes shown above are also in fun bright (and Valentine-y) colors, which is definitely a bonus.

  1. This romantic braid-ponytail hybrid is a pretty option if you want to keep your hair out of your face (or in general!)

  2. I love wavy long bobs, and this look totally fits the bill. It’s not too perfect so it looks cool rather than overdone.

  3. These voluminous curls are so beautiful, and are especially appropriate for any particular occasion.

  4. This effortless-looking style is spiced up by a cute braid. Pair with a casual outfit, or with something dressier to make the ensemble more wearable.

  5. Again with the pretty waves, I know. It’s a look that works for any occasion, and I can’t get enough of it!

  1. One way to switch up your makeup for Valentine’s Day is with a statement lip. I love the glossy finish and the pairing with fluffy lashes.

  2. This matte berry lip is perfectly accompanied by glowing, natural skin.

  3. The effortlessly dabbed-on red lip really stands out when accompanied by little other makeup.

  4. Eyeliner applied in this way adds drama to the eyes and makes them stand out.

  5. A classic matte red lip, long lashes, and fantastic eyebrows go well with any outfit.

  6. Minimal accompaniment to this berry lip keeps the look feeling effortless rather than too perfect.

  7. The eye look paired with this statement lip is just smoky enough, but keeps the look balanced and doesn’t overpower other features.

  8. This bright pink lip is fun and daring, kept looking soft by loose romantic waves.

  9. I can’t pick what I like most about this look. The glossy skin (admittedly more editorial than practical), gorgeous freckles, and brushed-up brows balance out the glossy red lip and added definition around the eye area.

  1. The strong highlight in this look is emphasized by full, dark lashes, and a nude pink lipcolor keeps the look from going overboard.

  2. Graphic, statement eyeliner takes center stage in this look, placed on a canvas of naturally glowing skin.

  3. Use Valentine’s Day as an excuse to break out the glitter with this pale sparkly eye look. Full brows keep the glitter color from making the skin look washed out.

  4. This look is decidedly more “done” and glamorous. Smoky eyes, full brows, and a strong contour make for an instagram-worthy makeup look.

  5. In contrast to the last look, this one is more “naturally pretty” than glam. The perfect flush on the cheeks complement nude-pink lips.

  6. An inner-corner eye highlight and full, fluttery eyelashes make the eyes look wide awake, with natural cheek and lip colors emphasize features rather than overpowering them.

  7. Eyeliner and piecey defined eyelashes stand out against a canvas of naturally lovely skin and strategically placed blush.

  8. This tonal look is reminiscent of recent runway makeup styles, with eyes, cheeks, and lips made very similar in shade. Statement brows and the addition of eyeliner define the face.

  9. This look takes advantage of the classic combination of subtly smoky eyes and soft pink lips and cheeks. It may not be super creative, but you can’t fix what isn’t broken, and there is a reason this combo has remained popular.

Happy Valentine’s Day!
