The Single Lady Playlist

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Ramapo chapter.

With today being Valentine’s Day, I find myself reading articles on my newsfeed about being single and alone. In light of this bitter holiday, I’m here to share my popular “Single Playlist” that I created after a bad breakup circa ’09. This playlist has made its way around my group of friends at home, and has been well received by many. So instead of being bitter or sad today, download some of these songs and embrace the single life! Enjoy ladies!

My personal favorite, and #1 on this playlist is Riding Solo by Jason Derulo. Blasting this song while driving around with your best friends is a sure fire way to stop missing anyone.

#2 on this sacred list is I Look So Good Without You by Jessie James. For those of you that fell in love with her after her hit realty TV show, you can fall in love with her even more while listening to her sing the lyrics to your life about moving on and being better without any man (pre Eric Decker of course).

#3 Single Ladies by Beyonce… need I say more?

#4 Titanium by David Guetta and Sia. Not your typical “I am woman hear me roar” song, but it really gets you pumped up.

#5 Throwing in a little country into the mix we have Songs Like This by Carrie Underwood, fueling any fire you have that you’re harboring over an ex-boyfriend.

#6 A classic throwback, and often overlooked song, is I’m Not Missing You by Stacie Orrico. Just sing this at the top of your lungs and you’ll be more than fine.

#7 On To The Next One by Jay Z. I have the Queen on this list, might as well have the King.

#8 I discovered this gem during my junior year of high school and instantly added it to the list. Women Lie Men Lie, Yo Gotti ft. Lil Wayne. You’re welcome.

#9 For your inner Disney lover, Potential Breakup Song by Aly and AJ (remember them?!).

#10 Of course, I saved the best for last, Fighter by Christina Aguilera. Now THIS is a “I am woman hear me roar” song.

To save you from reading on and on, I cut out a few so you can get to listening already! Here is the rest of the list:

Survivor: Destiny’s Child

King of Anything: Sara Bareilles

Single Again: Trina (Ft. Lil Wayne, Rick Ross, Plies)

Que Sera: Miley Cyrus

Deuces: Chris Brown

Letting Go: Sean Kingston ft. Nicki Minaj

Undo It: Carrie Underwood

A Little Bit Stronger: Sara Evans

Really Don’t Care: Demi Lovato

This playlist has gotten me through the worst of the worst– so blast it as loud as you need! And remember, just because you’re single, doesn’t mean you can’t have a Happy Valentine’s Day.

Hey Guys!! My name is Elina and I'm the Co-Founder and Editor-in-Chief of the Ramapo Chapter here at Her Campus :)Right now, I'm a senior studying journalism at Ramapo College. My dream is to work in the field of entertainment news-- either through broadcasting or magazine journalism. Right now, I'm interning at Elvis Duran and the Morning Show and I am obsessed!!! I can only hope to continue on this road, and until then I'll be doing whatever I can to make that possible. Though I'm only a half-hour from school, I live on campus and wouldn't have it any other way. If I need some fam-time I'm close enough of a drive where it's not a hassle, and far enough where I have my space. I live with pledge sisters-- I'm a member of Sigma Delta Tau here at Ramapo. These girls are my LIFE!I hope you have as much fun reading our Her Campus chapter as we've had making it possible each week. HAPPY READING!!
