How to Throw an Oscar Party

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Quinnipiac chapter.

It’s Oscar Sunday and it is time to celebrate!

  1. Food: The Oscars are all about class. So classy food is a must. Start with fondue. You can buy kits at the grocery store and melt the chocolate in a microwave. You can cut pound cake into cubes and dip it. You can also dip strawberries, marshmallows, and bananas. Popcorn is always fun to have around in little bowls as well as nuts. Champagne or sparkling cider would be a great idea to have and should be presented in champagne glasses. You can get plastic ones at the store.
  2. Games: Having games during commercials would be a good idea to have. You can print out Oscar bingo on the Internet. Quiz guests with trivia from past Oscar presentations. Have guest draw a name or select a name from a list of nominees and if that nominee wins, award the guest with a prize.
  3. Decorations and Themes: Have all your guest dress up as their favorite character from a movie or have everyone dress up like they are going to be walking the red carpet. Decorate the place with lots of gold and glitter. Gold bead necklaces are always fun to hand out to guests. Party city has plenty of decorations you could use.
  4. Have fun!
