Well, Collegiettes, I survived my first month as a freshman here at Quinnipiac. I can honestly say that during the past four weeks, I have learned so much about myself, my generation and the institution in which I decided to sign my soul over to during orientation in June. Quinnipiac University is undoubtedly a total dreamboat to anyone who lays eyes on it. I mean… come on.
While I’m still in the fetus stages of my career here at QU, I have experienced a lot more than one could imagine. From the annual gathering at the Bobcat the first weekend, to being assigned motherly duties on a Saturday night at the legendary Toad’s Place, to the late night cram sessions before that first exam, I think it’s safe to say that college has hit me like a train. The main things that I’ve taken from my weeks here at QU though, the three H’s… those are the most important.
1. Hockey boys
If you don’t live under a rock, I’m sure you’re aware that Quinnipiac’s hockey team is amongst the best in the country; and if you’re a female, well, these boys probably have already knocked you on a trip and sent you on a loop with just one look. Maybe it’s their confidence? Maybe it’s their hair? Maybe it’s the fact that they’re local celebrities? Who knows what it is. Just know that come the approaching season, you’ll hear this Bobcat loud and proud in the stands, hoping to catch the attention of one of the elite.
2. Harambe
I mean, do I even need to go into detail? Harambe comments are all the rage with college students.
3. Half Past 2 a.m.
There truly is no place like home and that’s what Quinnipiac has quickly turned into for me. I couldn’t imagine a week without the 2:30 a.m. wake up calls from my roommates (it’s all love in 427), the morning commute to the bathroom down the hallway, the trek I make from Ledges to CAS and the chicken nuggets from the Rat… it all feels like home to me now.
I love it here, I love my friends, I love hockey boys and I love Quinnipiac.
