End of the Semester Prep: ‘Scandal’ Style

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Quinnipiac chapter.

It’s officially the home stretch, Collegiettes. There are no more days off, the weather’s great and all you want to do is stretch out on the quad and read a book, listen to music, sleep– anything but go to class. Even though you don’t want to go you still do, but it seems like assignments just keep piling up.

So there you sit at your desk, staring at your calendar filled with tests and finals penciled in on what feels like every day. And you stare and stare until you break, because you’re so overwhelmed that you don’t even know where to start.

But you break out of your stupor and you go to class. And just as you sign the attendance sheet, you hear the professor announce your semester paper is due next week. And that was the needle that broke the camel’s back.

So as soon as the words ‘dismissed’ leave your professor’s mouth, you scramble out of class and call your special someone just because you need to hear their voice. You want to hear that everything’s going to be okay.

But you don’t need to hear that everything’s going to be okay, you need a battle cry. You need someone to look deep into your eyes and tell you that you need to snap out of it and finish up strong.

Because let’s be serious– binge watching Netflix is not going to help you on that final exam. And stalking people on Facebook is not a peer-reviewed study that can be cited in your semester paper.

So suit up kind sir, kind ma’am. Hold your head up high and get your pens ready, the granola bars on standby and your laptop charger plugged in, because there will be no chinks in this armor.

Now go get the grade you deserve!
