Welcome back lovelies!
I hope your breaks were busy and fun filled! Of course, when I say “fun-filled” I really mean, I hope you finally caught up on sleep and ditched those abnormal super scholar sleep schedules.  Now that you are back in the funk, let’s listen to some tunes, shall we?

NY State of Mind: Singles Awareness Day

By Erica Siciliano
February 10, 2012 - 2:33pm

Singles Awareness Day, also known as that little holiday as Valentines Day, is probably most dreadful time of the year.  Thankfully, it only come around once, but unlike other holidays, which usually include a cute old man leaving you presents or a bunny rabbit hiding his eggs, Valentine’s Day involves presents from boyfriends and expensive dinner reservations.  However for all you single ladies, myself included, it means wallowing on the couch with a tub of Ben and Jerry’s crying to your mom asking why you’re still single.  Well instead of wondering why, get out off the couch and go do something about it.

A Cup of Tia: Before the Interview

By Tia Meyers
January 31, 2012 - 10:39pm

This semester I’ve been going crazy between two internships but you know what? I absolutely love both of them. I have learned SOO much I never thought I would. I always wanted an internship at a great company where I wouldn’t be the coffee runner and I got it. I literally am a co-worker at my job and the people I work with are absolutely amazing. So for the next few weeks I’m going to give you a bit of advice on the interview, the first important step before you get that dream job you’ve always wanted. Because collegiates, I want you to be as happy as I am.

NY State of Mind: Don't Forget Your Shuttle Bus Manners

By Erica Siciliano
December 9, 2011 - 10:59am

Quinnipiac prides itself on having 3 separate campuses, main campus (correctly known as Mount Carmel), York Hill and North Haven. Although in the past, both junior and senior residents have been allowed to drive down from York Hill to main campus, recently Quinnipiac installed the rule that only seniors can drive down to campus before 5 pm leaving the juniors to take the shuttle down to class.  Although it’s not a bad as many people make it out to be, as the busses fill up with students, there are a couple of rules of etiquette I think many QU students need to remember when riding the shuttle. A Cup of Tia: Black Friday Do's and Don'ts

By Tia Meyers
November 23, 2011 - 10:31am

The time has come to empty out our pockets to fill other people’s stockings and bring them joy. But first, we will probably be left with grimace as we slowly go broke on this crazy, crowded, stampeding women filled day (yes this has happened, be careful). What day am I talking about? Black Friday.

A Cup of Tia: Giant View Cafe

By Tia Meyers
November 13, 2011 - 9:46pm

Walking into the quaint Giant View Café, you’re welcomed with warm faces. Enjoyably, every week I do this. Giant View has become one of my favorite off-campus places to visit over the past year and my friends feel the same way after I bring them along. With reasonable prices and a wide variety of delicious meals, I try to make a weekly stop. Not to mention, I’m a caffeine addict and they make wonderful cappuccinos and lattes. I have always been in love with little cafes off the beaten Starbucks path where I can go and study, and this place is perfect for that. They have seating inside and out to plop yourself down upon and enjoy an amazing breakfast or lunch. READ MORE

NY State of Mind: Day Tripping Off The Beaten Path

By Erica Siciliano
November 7, 2011 - 11:16am

When people think of New York, they automatically think of the city.  With its bright lights, overpriced meals and Broadway shows, millions of tourists flood the streets of NYC in hopes of capturing its true essence. But what many visitors don’t get to see is the other side of New York, the non-touristy side. Although Time Square and 5th Ave offer great shopping and restaurants, there are many other places that you can go, thanks to the subway, that are just as great, if not better than the generic Times Square scene.
