5 Easy Recipes for Homemade Iced Coffee

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Quinnipiac chapter.

Iced coffee is generally known to be a delectable summer treat, but it is coming to be a common year-round beverage that mostly everyone enjoys.  Iced coffee is the perfect pick-me-up for getting up early in the morning, in the middle of the day, or even late at night to help with studying.

However, sometimes the general iced coffee can taste bland after a while.  Here are some recipes you can try to help spice up this cold, caffeinated beverage:

1.  Vanilla Cinnamon Iced Coffee

Ingredients:

1 ½ cups cold, brewed coffee

Ice

2 teaspoons vanilla extract

2 teaspoons ground cinnamon

Half-and-half or milk, to taste

Instructions:

·      Fill a large glass with ice cubes.  Add coffee, vanilla extract, cinnamon and half and half (or milk).

·      Stir to combine.  Taste and adjust half-and-half/milk and vanilla and/or cinnamon as needed.

2.  Salted Caramel Iced Coffee

Ingredients:

1 ½ cups cold, brewed coffee

¼ cup caramel sauce, plus small amount for garnish

1/8 teaspoons salt, plus small amount for garnish

Ice

Sugar, to taste

Creamer, half-and-half, or milk, to taste

Whipped cream, for garnish (optional)

Instructions:

·      Pour 1/4 cup of caramel sauce into mug or cup and add coffee.

·      Stir to mix.  Add 1/8 teaspoons salt, ice cubes, sugar and creamer.

·      Mix well.  Top with whipped cream, a drizzle of caramel sauce and a few sprinkles of salt all for garnish (optional).

1 cup of cold, brewed coffee

Ice

1 teaspoon of vanilla extract

Whipped cream

Caramel sauce to drizzle on top

Chocolate sprinkles

·      Top with whipped cream, caramel sauce and chocolate sprinkles.

4.  S’mores Iced Coffee

Ingredients:

Cold, brewed coffee

Chocolate milk

Marshmallow fluff

Crushed graham crackers

Instructions:

·      Pour chocolate milk and iced coffee into large glass together.

·      Top the chocolate milk and iced coffee with marshmallow fluff.

·      Finish the beverage off with a garnish of crushed graham crackers.

5.  Pumpkin Spiced Iced Coffee

Ingredients:

Cold, brewed coffee

1 teaspoon of vanilla extract

1 dash of pumpkin spice

½ cup creamer

I hope you enjoyed these simple, delicious iced coffee recipes.  I also hope you love iced coffee as much as I do!  I plan on trying out the salted caramel recipe as soon as I get the chance.  Let us know which of these coffees you would like to try @hercampusqu!
