As much as I love clothing, bags tend to reach the top of my list. After searching around for some of my personal favorites, these bags below are great for different occasions! READ MORE

Life of a New York City Intern: Final Entry

By Leta Stevens

They say all good things come to an end, but I never realized how fast the end to my NYC summer would actually come. The end always seemed so far away, and now it is finally here. Now that I have finally faced reality and accepted the fact that I am moving back to Indiana, I have realized that this quote just does not suffice.

The weekend of June 24thwas a monumental weekend in New York. It was an amazing feeling to be in the city when the news was announced. New York had finally said "yes" to gay marriage.

It came at a perfect time. The news was revealed on a Friday night, during NYC Pride Week. The Empire State Building was lit up in an array of rainbow colors celebrating the gay population of its beloved city.

Everyone has seen the infamous American Apparel “Legalize Gay” t-shirts and the iconic gay pride rainbow flags, but I have never in my life seen them to such an extent as I did that weekend.

Life of a New York City Intern: Entry 3

It is finally here: Friday. The day every intern anxiously awaits. And as the clock strikes 6:00p.m., every intern is dashing home and ready for the weekend. Being in New York City, there are a million and one things to do on a Friday night.

Some interns like to relax, lie in bed, and let the stress of the workweek melt away, while others would rather let loose and grab a cocktail with friends and co-workers.

If you are one of those people that like to stay in and relax, don’t worry. So many delicious restaurants deliver. So far, my personal favorites have been The Bread Factory (to-die-for make-your-own-salads delivered!) and Atomic Wings (there is nothing better than blazing hot boneless wings, yum!).

It all seems so glamorous. Packing up and flying to New York City. Telling fellow interns you are working in Soho, the neighborhood of Manhattan that is known for its love of the arts and is famous for it’s shopping.

I honestly thought my move here was going to be just that: glamorous. While the move out to Manhattan was a rush, and all of my adventures around the city have been exhilarating, working as an intern in NYC is anything but glamorous. Bottom line: it’s really hard work.

So let’s get down to internship business, shall we?
