With the chilly weather rolling in, it’s often a struggle to make it to the gym when your bed is so cozy and you’re surrounded by Halloween candy already. Sliding on those Nikes and finding the drive to go for a run or make it to the co-rec won’t come easy in these upcoming months, so here are some tips to help that motivation come either! Bring a buddy. By committing to go with your best friend or a sorority sister, you can hold each other accountable to actually make it there. Plus, it’s always more fun to do something with a friend! I mean who else are you going to check out the cute guy on the treadmill with? READ MORE

Amazing Alternatives: Baked Chicken Fingers

By Katie Hanyzewski
October 7, 2012 - 1:55pm

After a few weeks of fitness blogs, I decided to switch it up and do a healthy eating post this week. Ever since I was a kid I’ve been addicted to chicken fingers. Until I was 16, no matter where my family went out to eat, I’d ALWAYS get chicken fingers. Most renditions of this traditional recipe involve heavily deep frying the breaded chicken in oil. One of my favorite things about working out often is the need for workout clothes! I don’t feel guilty buying new gym gear because I know that it’s to ultimately improve myself to become healthier and stronger. This is Part 1 of several blogs that will keep you updated with the latest (and cutest!) fitness gear! Of course it’s fun to shop for the cutest new Norts or pair of gym shoes to go running in around campus, but I know that when I look good going to the gym, I have more confidence in myself to run longer on the track or try that new machine that looks intimidating. It’s not about being fashionable, but about being a stronger and more confident version of you! So check out these picks, get to shopping, and get out there and get your sweat on!...

Cut a hole out of the middle of the freshly washed strawberry. Cream together the ingredients in a bowl until it’s a whipped mixture. Pipe the cream into the strawberry and garnish with grated chocolate or graham cracker crumbs!
