Brittany’s Blog: Sultry Swimwear

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Purdue chapter.

Well readers, it’s that time of year. Have you noticed how packed the gym is? Clearly the New Year’s resolutions are happening in full force. Perhaps it was because the Victoria’s Secret swimsuit magazine has come out. How we all wish we could be toned, bronzed beauties rolling around in the sand beautiful as ever, and then some. Whether you are already in great shape, halfway there, or just starting, the most important aspect it just to stay healthy and true to yourself! You are as beautiful as you feel—confidence is everything! The fun part is picking out the swimsuit!

I’m personally a bikini lover and just adore all the cute swimsuits they make now. There are so many styles of swimsuits that are flattering on anyone, which makes it easier to shop. I went ahead and made a list of some great suits of all price ranges.

‘The Madi Ruffle Stripe’, Victoria Secret, Top $34 and Bottom $22
This bikini reminds me of something from the 50’s with the ruffle detail and ruching. The candy stripes are almost like a pin-up girl look. For those who want to show off your ‘tush’ or needing a little push up, this bikini is for you.  The top provides a nice push up while the bottom cuts in to give your bottom a nice lift and shape!

Juniors Keyhole Monokini Swimsuit in Pink Stripe found at Target $24.99
This one piece with a deep V is flattering on anyone. The pattern of this bathing suit is eye-catching and fun.

‘L*Space’ by The Orchid Boutique: Top $68 Bottom $62 Cover up $67
Looking to stand out on the beach or go for a beach party? Look no further than www.theorchidboutique.com. They have gorgeous designer swimwear with other great accessories! I love the fringe on the purple bathing suit. It adds just that extra flair! If you are looking for a stylish cover-up, the lace up V-neck added with the black material combines a bit of sexiness and flirtation.

Whether it is a one piece, a tankini, or a strappy bikini, there are so many options to choose from as far as style, color, and material goes. It’s most important that the swimsuit fits and that you feel comfortable in it! You can always pair with a beautiful cover up or add an oversized sun hat for fun!
