Meeting a potential love interest can be more complicated than college calculus. Trying to convince your girlfriends that “you’re meant to be and he just doesn’t know it yet,” is usually the easiest part. There’s always the chance that he’s with someone or doesn’t want to be bothered with talking to someone new. However desperately you’re seeking love, getting hit on by the creepy, touchy-feely guy reminds you that you’re not that desperate. Well, S.O.C.A (Student Organization of Caribbean Ancestry) has simplified this whole process. Their Traffic Jam Party took place Friday night at the Stood.

Are you taken and don’t want some creeper hitting on you? Easy, just wear red. Are you confused about what’s going on between you and that guy you’re constantly Facebook chatting with? Break out the yellow. Are you single and ready to mingle? Then, go green. This way of telling who’s interested in hooking up and who’s not is as straightforward as wearing a sign on your back, minus the humiliation.

Whatever your relationship status, the party made for a great release after a week of cabin fever due to the snowstorm. Freshman, Jessica Lippencott said, “the party was [mad] fun, there were a lot of people to meet.” S.O.C.A. saw a great turnout for their event- the crowd filled the main stage section of the Stood,. Their energy was also abundant, especially during old school songs like “Jump On It” and a Michael Jackson mix

Dance parties at Purchase are always popular, especially S.O.C.A.’s. Students raved about the black light party last semester and the neon light party on Halloween was a hit. Traffic Jam definitely lived up to the hype. Be sure to check out your S.A.F digest for S.O.C.A.’s next event, because they know how to have a good time.
