Playlists For When You’re Feeling Nostalgic About Life

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at PSU chapter.

We all have those conversations about the “cringy” music we listened to way back in middle and high school. Except, we’re not really ashamed about listening to them – are we? I know I’m not. If you’re feeling like you want a throwback, here are some awesome playlists you can find on Spotify to get you singing at the top of your lungs into your hairbrush again.

1. 7th Grade Sexual Explosion

I’d like to thank our Her Campus staff for introducing me to this nostalgia-fest playlist.

2. Nostalgia for the 2000’s

The first song on the playlist is “All Star” by Smash Mouth… need I say more?

3. Emo Songs You Haven’t Thought About Since 2007

I really didn’t think this playlist was real until I opened it.

4. Nostalgia 2006-2010

Remember when The Pussycat Dolls were still a thing?

5. Middle School Dance Playlist – Shane Allen

Cringing at all the songs I didn’t really understand but danced to anyway.

6. Pop Punk Powerhouses – Spotify

Spotify did a good job capturing my angsty phase.

7. High School Dance Classics

Who doesn’t still listen to “Stacy’s Mom?”

8. TBT: 2000-2013

This playlist is seriously a gem, all 334 songs.

9. Flashback songs for 2000’s kids

I’m sorry, but High School Musical, iCarly, and Victorious are classics and I’m not ashamed.

10. High school emo throwback

I know we all went through some kind of emo music phase – it’s okay.

11. 2000’s Throwback Party – Arthur Condor

Any playlist with Sean Paul in it is sure to give you a flashback.

12. Middle School Jams (My Awkard Fetus Pre-Teen Years) – vimaa075

Middle school was awkward for everyone, so it’s time we embraced the music and memories that came out of it.

Have fun reliving days of old!
