The HC Survival Kit Has Officially Arrived

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at PSU chapter.

Our collegiette prayers have been answered!  Her Campus PSU has officially been blessed with our 2014 HC Survival Kit – and just in time for midterms! This kit is jam-packed with everything we need to make it until winter break and beyond. It’s complete with beauty products, fashion freebies and mouth-watering temptations (…did we mention Chipotle burritos?!). Yeah, it’s safe to say this kit has just about everything a savvy ‘Stater’ could ask for. A BIG thank you to our incredible sponsors for their generous gifts!

1. Chipotle BOGO cards (aka financial aid) – We had to start off with a State College favorite. We all know people worship Chipotle around here, and we also know that no one wants to gorge on endless Mexican cuisine alone. Well, thanks to Chipotle’s BOGO cards, we don’t have to. Each card is good for a buy one burrito, get one free offer. A big thank you goes out to Chipotle from us, as well as the lucky people we will be taking.

2. Mini LUNA bars – Feeling a little guilty after that massive burrito? No problem, LUNA has us covered in the form of their mini LUNA bars. These bars are the perfect snack to hold you over between classes and keep you energized throughout the day. And if there’s one thing we could all could use a little more of, it’s energy. Thanks LUNA!

3. Tanda Zap Acne Spot Treatment Device Coupons – Let’s face it, ladies – we’re not all lucky enough to ditch the adolescent acne the second we come to college. For those of us who could use the extra help, Tanda Zap is the answer. These amazing devices use sonic vibration and warming techniques to clear or fade blemishes in a matter of 24 hours. We know what you’re thinking – these things must be like $100, right? Wrong. Their devices start at just $40 and if you’re lucky enough to be friends with one of our members, you might just be able to score it for $20. Thanks for the coupons, Tanda Zap!

4. Nasty Gal Pins – If you’re not already familiar with a little shop called Nasty Gal, you should be. This global online destination is an international style source offering both new and vintage clothing, shoes, and accessories for fashion-forward, free-thinking girls. Be sure to check out their custom totes, which were created this fall exclusively for their college audience. And the pins? Sorry ladies, those will only be seen on HC members. Thanks for the exclusive, Nasty Gal!

5. AeropostaleWe know what you’re thinking. I haven’t stepped foot in an Aeropostale since 7th grade, right? Well, just as we have all evolved since our middle school days, so has this fashion retailer. Don’t believe us? Check out their #AERONOW campaign and see for yourself. We’ll just be here sipping on our brand new LLD Sport Bottle and deciding what we’re going to spend our $10 coupons on. Thank you, Aeropostale!

6. European Wax Center $5 Off Coupons Winter is rapidly approaching and it’s easy to forget about shaving when your legs never see the light of day – until Friday night that is. Be sure you’re ready for the weekend and check out EWC’s exfoliating gel for the smoothest skin ever, no matter what the season. With these discounts, we’ll definitely be getting our hands on some. Thanks, EWC!

7. Free app download from Clue – You know that moment in the doctor’s office when they ask you how long it’s been since your last period and you realize you have absolutely no clue? Well, it’s time to get a clue with the new Clue app. Not only does this nifty little app tell you when your period is coming but it can also calculate which 6 days you’re most likely to get pregnant and even tell you when your mood is connected to your cycle. Crazy, right? Thanks for the download, Clue!

8. Garnier Skincare ProductsSo, we all know Garnier does hair care like no other, but did you know they sell skincare products as well? And not just any skincare – we’re talking products that cover the entire range of beauty imperfections, from dark spots, to cleansing, to tone perfection. No matter what your skin type, they have a product that, with daily use, will lead you to your best possible skin. For college-age skin, Garnier recommends the Blackhead Eliminating Scrub and Nourisihing Cleansing Oil. Thanks for the free samples, Garnier!

9. Sweetgreen With the temptation of greasy pizza and saucy wings always within reach of Penn State students, the effort to stay healthy can be somewhat short-lived. Well, allow the people at Sweetgreen to get you back on track. Sweetgreen is a company that sources local and organic ingredients from farmers they know and partners they trust, supporting their communities and creating meaningful relationships with those around them. Although, State College has not been fortunate enough to be blessed with a location as of yet, this company is worth keeping your eye out for and making a stop next time you’re in the Philly area. In the meantime, we’ll be enjoying their adorable headbands and delicious DIY watermelon lemonade recipe. Thanks so much, Sweetgreen!

10. Affinitas Cupcake Panties To most collegiettes, there’s nothing better than an adorable pair of lacy new underwear. Except maybe, cupcakes. Well, Affinitas has managed to find a way to combine both worlds into the perfect cupcake panty. These perfect little panties are uniquely packaged in a small cupcake silhouette making it easy to carry with you from the gym or in an overnight bag without ever revealing what’s inside! Thanks for the sweets, Affinitas!
